A Day at Asticou Azalea Garden

Gotta give a big round of applause to the staff at Asticou Azalea Garden in Northeast Harbor for making the gardens look so incredible this year.  Easily the best year I’ve ever seen there.  This garden has evolved substantially over the past several years, with additional garden spaces being added and older areas being restored.  If you have not visited in a while or never been (gasp!), treat yourself to a visit.  The heavy rain yesterday may have pushed bloom past peak, though the gardens are still a gem in any phase.  Add happy hour on the deck with a baked brie at the Asticou Inn and an evening walk on the Northeast Harbor VIS trails to visit forested sea cliffs and you’re talking seriously about making the most of the longest days of the year.  Happy summah!
